Letter of Support

.

Hi! My name is Eden and I am so grateful you’re here reading this.

This June, God is blessing me with the opportunity to visit two ministries in the Middle East. Lord willing, I will first go to and serve at Cedar Home for Girls in Lebanon. From Lebanon, I will then go to Egypt to attend a missions conference with a few other members from my church, Grace Chapel in Lexington, MA. My trip will be from June 19 to July 3. Here is some context and an invitation to consider supporting me in prayer, giving, or both!

What is Cedar Home for Girls?

Cedar Home is a Christian home in Beirut, Lebanon which serves girls who are abandoned, orphaned, at-risk, or whose families are financially disadvantaged and cannot take care of their daughters. Girls of all ages, from newborns to teenagers, are cared for in a residential setting. Currently, Cedar Home hosts a dozen Syrian, Palestinian and Iraqi girls from refugee families.

No matter their religious or ethnic background, Cedar Home showers their residents in love, security, and encouragement. A staff team of three provides a safe environment for the girls to thrive academically, physically, mentally, emotionally, socially, and spiritually.

You can learn more about Cedar Home at their website here.

Why am I going?

You may have heard that I was planning to volunteer and live at Cedar Home for a few months this spring! For multiple reasons, I felt that God was ultimately holding me from going in this season. This was especially difficult and confusing because for several months, I knew that it was God who had put Cedar Home intensely on my heart. Why was He urgently rooting this in my heart just to reveal that I couldn’t go?

God’s timing is perfect, even if I can’t presently understand it. As life goes on, I see His plans making a little more sense, day by day.

This spring, I was graciously invited to attend a missions conference in Egypt with a few other members from my church. It will be an opportunity for me to learn more about what God is doing in the MENA region. And because of Egypt’s proximity to Lebanon, I am able to visit Cedar Home for a few days before the conference starts.

What about the

Israel-Palestine war?

Given the continuously changing nature of the war, my plans may adapt as well. At the counsel of my pastors, mentors, Cedar Home, the ministry in Egypt, my travel companions, and international travel advisories, I’m keeping my plans very open to change. In the event that I can no longer go to either Lebanon or Egypt, then everything I fundraise will go directly to Cedar Home to support their ongoing ministry.

What do I need help with?

I’m seeking support in two areas:

  1. Spiritually: More than anything, I need prayer! I need God’s direction in every aspect of this journey, as well as His love and mercy on the work of Cedar Home and the ministry in Egypt. I’ll be sharing more specific and personal prayer requests via my newsletter.

  1. Financially: I would love to financially partner with anyone who is interested as a way to involve you in this journey. My fundraising goal is $850. This is to cover 50% of the cost of my flight tickets. My conference fees will be generously covered by my church. I am paying the rest myself, as a step of faith and as an intentional investment in exploring what God may have for me in missions.

I’m being serious when I say that prayer is my #1 need! :-) That said, your gifts, big or small, are deeply appreciated and make a world of difference. Any funds raised over my goal of $850 will be given directly to Cedar Home for the benefit of their girls.

If you’d like to learn more about my story and receive updates from me, I warmly welcome you to join the loop! If you have any additional comments or questions, please email me at eden.min@gmail.com

Thank you so much for taking the time to read a bit about what’s happening in my life. I am incredibly grateful for you, I wish you well and hope to connect with you soon!

sincerely,

Eden
